Our apprenticeship at a glance
The tasks:
Electricians for automation technology analyse functional interactions and process sequences of automated systems and design modifications. They install electric, hydraulic and pneumatic drive systems and integrate equipment for measuring, controlling and regulating. In addition they also install, program and adjust sensor systems, operating-systems, Bus-systems and networks. They connect these installed components to complex automation devices in order to integrate them in an overall system. After implementing trial runs they hand over the systems to the future operators and introduce them to the handling. Furthermore electricians for automation technology maintain automation systems. Via test software and diagnosis systems they localize, analyse and fix errors.
Job specific basic education:
- Structure of the training enterprise
- Labour law, collective bargaining law and occupational safety
- Work safety, environmental protections and efficient energy use
- Production of mechanical parts
- Manufacturing of mechanical connections
- Assembling and wiring of mechanical, electromechanical and electrical parts into modules
- Preparing, laying and connecting of cables
- Measuring of alternating current as well as checking components
- Analysis of functional interactions and process sequences; if necessary also of process workflows in interconnected production plants, in order to design modifications of automation systems, for example for production processes, process technology, nanotechnological devices, networks, traffic control and building technology
- Installation of devices for automation technology and components
- Checking and activating automation systems
- Monitoring and maintaining of automation systems
- Documentation of workflows and contribution to the optimization of sequences
Requirements
At least secondary school graduation
Minimum requirement: knowledge of German (level B1)
Training period
3,5 years
