Our apprenticeship at a glance
Tasks:
Regarding the discipline machinery and plant construction industrial mechanics install parts into modules and then into machines on the basis of working documents. On this occasion they edit the parts mechanically and manually or they manufacture them by themselves. They check the modules directly at the completion as well as the installed machines regarding function and put them into operation afterwards. Furthermore they also conduct periodic inspections and maintain the machines. Industrial mechanics for machinery and plant construction work in industrial areas, for example machinery companies or in maintenance departments of different companies. They have many possibilities to work for example in a workshop production, an assembly hall or on site.

Job specific basic education:

  • Labour law, collective bargaining law and occupational safety
  • Work safety, environmental protections and efficient energy use
  • Understanding, using and creating of technical documents
  • Scheduling and operating of workflows and motion sequences as well as controlling and interpreting of the results
  • Controlling, marking and maintaining of equipment
  • Adjusting and cutting of tools and parts

  • Understanding, using and creating of technical documents

  • Manual cutting and mechanical cutting

Requirements
At least secondary school graduation
Minimum requirement: knowledge of German (level B1)

Training period
3,5 years
