Every two years, the European Federation of Corrugated Board Manufacturers (FEFCO) organizes the FEFCO Technical Seminar, a leading trade conference and exhibition for the European corrugated board industry. This year's edition took place from October 8 to 10, 2025, at the Rome Convention Center “La Nuvola” in the Italian capital. Over the three days, 1,171 participants visited the 158 exhibition stands and learned about the 120 exhibiting companies – including BHS Corrugated.
This year, the trade fair appearance of the leading solution provider in the corrugated industry was dominated by the “Corruverse”: a digital ecosystem that combines corrugators, digital printing, intralogistics and processing in an integrated production environment – and thus shapes the future of the corrugated industry. BHS Corrugated's trade fair appearance was a complete success: the highlight was an LED wall with mirrored outer surfaces, on which customers were shown videos and presentations from the Corruverse, e.g. from the areas of digital print, cyber security, equipment, intralogistics, and Lifecycle Services.
The “CorruMate” was also brought to life and was on display as a life-size mascot on the first day of the trade fair – a popular photo opportunity for visitors to the FEFCO Technical Seminar.
During the conference, the experts from the lifecycle company received loud applause for their participation in panel discussions, keynotes, and spotlights on various solutions in the fields of digital printing, intralogistics, digitization, and cyber security. This was confirmed by several awards that BHS Corrugated and its partner companies received in various categories:
Regional Sales Director Thomas Murr received the “Award for Best Innovation in Advanced Technology” for his spotlight on the BHS Jetliner Monochrome single-pass inkjet digital printing system.
Markus Meister, managing director of factory360, a partner company of BHS Corrugated that has set itself the task of advancing the digitalization of production facilities and buildings with the help of state-of-the-art technologies, was honored with the “Award for Most Inspiring New Member.”
Alfons Gnan, head of R&D at BHS Corrugated, received a very special honor: He received the FEFCO Lifetime Achievement Award for his decades of service to the European corrugated industry.
The company brought a “treat” from its home country with it on the first day of the trade fair: Corruverse-branded beer, which invited customers to a cozy get-together.
Of course, the traditional customer event also took place on the evening of the second FEFCO day: in addition to culinary delights and music, the invited customers enjoyed a video mapping experience that combined historical architecture with modern technology.
