BHS Corrugated celebrates 30th Anniversary at the Headquarters in Weiherhammer

Already in the early 1960s, Paul Engel, the father of today's Managing Directors Christian and Lars Engel, had ambitious plans: he wanted to invest in the development and construction of machines for corrugated board production. With deep conviction and great enthusiasm, he turned his product idea into reality, back then as part of Bayerische Berg-, Hütten- und Salzwerke AG. In 1961, BHS delivered the first corrugator. Through hard work, technical expertise, and teamwork, it managed to outshine competitors in the industry.

In 1993, Paul Engel, together with his business partner and friend Edmund Bradatsch, made a crucial decision. They acquired the shares of the corrugated division, including the Weiherhammer location, from the former corporation and founded BHS Corrugated. If they had not done so, the location would have been closed.

Christian and Lars Engel look back on the past years with great gratitude. Both joined the company in the mid-90s. Through hard work, dedication, and the tireless efforts of a continuously growing team here in Weiherhammer, BHS Corrugated has become the successful company that it is today. The employees continue to drive the company forward to implement the strategy for the corrugated box plant of the future, the Box Plant 2025.

The 30th anniversary was celebrated with a great company party in Weiherhammer, on a sunny Saturday in July. Colleagues from foreign locations also attended the invitation. The highlight of the evening was a drone show in the night sky above the Lifecycle Building, which told the story of BHS Corrugated in an impressive light show.

The 30th anniversary continues to be commemorated by BHS Corrugated even after the grand company party. Further activities, especially for the BHS Corrugated staff, are planned until the end of the year.
