A location that started in 2002 in a rented production warehouse with 7 employees is today one of the most important service sites of the BHS Group for customers in southern Europe. Managing Director for the site, and Head of Business Unit Lifecycle for the BHS Group, Markus Winkler, celebrated the 20-year company anniversary on December 13, 2022, alongside Site Manager Antje Beljan and the entire BHS Corrugated Croatia team. CEO Christian Engel and CFO Dr. Thomas List travelled from the headquarters in Weiherhammer to be present at the event, along with Erwin Rast and Wolfgang Janner, who head up the Field Service area. The two co-founders, Mr. Georg Pfannenstein, former Member of the Bundestag and representative for Croatia in that office, and Mr. Gerhard Kranz, former authorized representative for BHS Corrugated and Managing Director of BHS Croatia, were also invited as honored guests.
The celebration began with a tour of the new office facility in Varazdin, the economic and cultural hub of northern Croatia. Then, Mr. Winkler and Mr. Beljan took guests on a journey into the past. It started with the tour of a former BHS Croatia site. Then, everyone met the local BHS team at the Hotel Park in Varazdin, where a dinner was held to celebrate the anniversary. Mr. Beljan and Mr. Winkler continued their journey through time during their opening remarks. Mr. Beljan showed photos and told interesting anecdotes to look back at key milestones from the last 20 years. Mr. Winkler turned to the future, and presented BHS Corrugated Croatia’s new mission as a service center for south-eastern Europe, explaining the next steps planned in the site’s development.
