BHS Corrugated’s decades of expertise in the development of single facers are reflected in the versatility, reliable quality and high performance of the Advance Facer AF-P. The AF-P offers proven roll geometry, easy storage and changing of cassettes due to patented magazines, production speeds of 350 m/ min and high profitability with low investment costs.
Efficient cassette change
The AF-P uses two systems for changing corrugating rolls. The Cassette Magazine® of BHS Corrugated was developed for customers who make frequent flute changes or are looking for a particularly space-saving solution with the aim of minimizing cassette movement in production. Depending on individual requirements, the rolls can be transported to the machine by hand or motor-driven trolleys and are then loaded and electrically moved to the production position. The Advance Facer AF-P is located on the drive side of the machine and can hold up to three cassettes. Cassette changes are made in a maximum of ten minutes—this ensures the quick and easy start of production. Optionally, the rollers can be preheated before switching to operating temperature.
The main premise in the AF-P’s development was the need for easiest possible, yet consistently safe, usability. Quick access to the ergonomically designed controls and relevant machine components makes for quick intervention in the production process and easy cleaning. The production is monitored by sensors; the corrugator is automatically stopped in the event of web breaks. The glue transfer using the patented SoftTouch function enables a consistently optimal glue application with constant contact pressure. In addition to the relevant parameters, the current operating status is clearly displayed in each phase. In this way, errors can be quickly detected and eliminated.
BHS Corrugated’s decades of expertise in the single facer construction were directly integrated into the development of the Advance Facer AF-P. The use of wear parts and, hence, maintenance effort could be reduced to a minimum. An integrated system for monitoring service work also contributes to the AF-P’s high availability.
With its compact dimensions, the AF-P can be installed at ground level in systems already in operation. The Advance Facer AF-P is delivered completely “ready for installation.” All controls, including the machine control cabinets, are located directly on the machine.
The Advance Facer AF-P meets the EN 1010-1 and EN 1010-5 standards, the industry standard of the European CE Machinery Directive.
