BHS Corrugated Reviews the Last 30 Years with the Reading of 'Wellengang'

15.12.2023

An evening full of insights into the development of a global player: Approximately 100 guests embarked on a journey through the last 30 years of the leading solution provider in the corrugated industry on Wednesday evening at the Future Lab at the premises of BHS Corrugated in Weiherhammer. The company, in collaboration with author Ottmar Braun, organized a reading from the book "Wellengang," which was created in celebration of the company's 30th anniversary.

A tribute not only to BHS Corrugated but to the entire region

Author Ottmar Braun took the audience on an exciting journey through the past three decades, presenting the milestones, innovations, and people who have shaped the company in a unique way. He spoke about inspiring personalities and enlightening situations, providing plenty of opportunities for thought and reflection. It became clear how the company and the region have developed hand in hand.

The reading was accompanied by fitting images by Bernhard Rauch, displayed on the large screens in the background (see image), as well as by songs from pianist Hubert Haberberger, who provided additional entertainment during the short reading breaks and infused the evening with a festive atmosphere.

At the end, the visitors had the opportunity for an interactive exchange with Ottmar Braun. Additionally, they could acquire personally signed copies of the book from Christian Engel and Ottmar Braun. During the get-together, a lively exchange unfolded regarding the contents of the book.

Thanks to the creatives behind "Wellengang":

In his welcoming words, Christian Engel, CEO of BHS Corrugated, expressed special thanks to the creative minds who brought "Wellengang" to life. His gratitude, above all, went to author Ottmar Braun, who impressively captured the 30-year corporate journey in words. Engel also thanked photographer Bernhard Rauch, whose pictures filled the book with life and made the story visually tangible. As a token of appreciation, both were presented with a gift.

Engel further emphasized that the book was a collaborative project that could only come true through the cooperation of many individuals. This included Mr. Lothar Kraus, who contributed descriptions of BHS Corrugated's high-tech machines. Engel also mentioned Mr. Eckard Bodner for his valuable publishing work, as well as Ms. Daniela Kleber from the advertising agency Bild-Punkte, who designed the appealing book.

Future Lab as a fitting venue

The event took place at the Future Lab, opened in 2021 by the Lars and Christian Engel (LUCE) Trust. The building provided a good impression of the innovative projects that the Managing Directors of BHS Corrugated are currently involved in. On 400 square meters, the Future Lab explores, develops, and tests innovative educational scenarios. Using state-of-the-art equipment and the necessary hardware and software, industrial processes are simulated and presented and further developed using virtual reality. The Future Lab is available to apprentices and dual students of BHS Corrugated, among others. Cultural events also take place there from time to time. Information about planned events can be found on the BHS Corrugated social media channels.
